Part 4. Advanced Tips & Tricks

Adding Background Music, Subtitles, and Overlays

Export Options (Resolutions, Formats)

In Wind Cut, after selecting your export format of MP4, AVI, WMV, MOV (video), or MP3 and AAC (audio), you can use the Gear icon to open the export settings. Here, you have the opportunity to change the video resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and encoder type. It also allows you to adjust audio settings such as the sample rate and the bitrate. These options assist you in producing high-quality exports that suit the requirements of your particular project or platform.

Custom Workflow Suggestions

To simplify your editing within Wind Cut, start by organizing your files into separate folders for raw footage, music, overlays, and project files. Manage layers in the multi-track timeline that contains video, picture-in-picture, text, audio, voiceover, filter, and overlay tracks. Add reusable items to the PIP track and save common titles or intros to text or element tracks. To save your work for later editing, click the "File" tab and select "Save As" to save it as a project file with a file extension of *.ve. Always preview on the fly to spot problems such as out-of-sync text, audio disproportion, or off-location overlays.

Part 5. Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Wind Cut place a watermark on videos that are exported?

Yes, the free edition of Wind Cut puts a watermark on every video it exports. You will need to purchase a Pro license and activate it to export without a watermark. After the switch, every subsequent export will be clean and watermark-free.

2. Does Wind Cut ensure the safety of my data?

Wind Cut is a video editor on a desktop, which means that your media files and projects are locally stored on your machine. The program does not save or transmit your work to the cloud unless you export or share it. This provides you with complete control of your project files and privacy.

3. Is it possible to record my own voice into a project?

Wind Cut does have a built-in Dubbing feature, which lets you record voiceovers directly to the timeline. This allows you to narrate your video, commentate on it, or explain the images as you edit. The audio is captured on a separate voiceover track, where you can cut, adjust the volume, and apply fade effects.

4. Can I add and edit images in my video project?

Yes, Wind Cut will accept such formats as JPG and PNG images, which you can use as an overlay, intro, or background image. All one needs to do is drag the image into the timeline, resize it, and place it in the preview window. You also have an option to use filters or GIFs on images to make your video more stylish.
